Banana Bliss Pudding Cups Are the Dessert That Steals the Show

Mini bread pudding cups with caramelized banana slices on top.
I started this because I had too many overripe bananas. One thing led to another, and suddenly I was making individual puddings for everyone I knew. There’s something about warm, custardy banana desserts that makes people feel instantly cozy.
Why This Works
The bread soaks up the custard just enough to stay soft, while the bananas on top caramelize in the oven, creating a sweet, slightly crunchy layer. You get creamy pudding and caramel flavor in each bite.
Ingredients You’ll Need
- 2 overripe bananas, sliced
- 4 slices bread, cubed
- 2 eggs
- 300ml milk
- 3 tbsp sugar
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- 2 tbsp butter for caramelizing bananas
Optional: chocolate chips or cinnamon
Tips for Custardy Pudding
Mix eggs and milk gently—overbeating makes the pudding rubbery. Soak bread for 10 minutes before baking to ensure soft texture.
Layer & Bake
Layer bread cubes and custard in cups, top with caramelized bananas, and bake at 180°C for 20–25 minutes. Chill or serve warm with ice cream.
